There seems to be a mini-rally (6 coaches) here in Evart MI. Five came with arrangements done by someone in Great Lakers, and then we showed up and out here in left field (no power or water but the same price), but I kind of like it this way.
This is the site of the Dulcimer Festival. We learned about this amazing event from a little note in the last Great Lakers news letter. It sounded like something interesting to do - if I could get all the parts back in the coach in time to make the trek worth doing.
Well, it is. This is insane. The place is crazy with acoustic music. And how about a concert last night with about hammered dulcimers going at once. There was somebody playing something until I got to sleep. As it says on the website, this is not camping for camping's sake. There is no quiet time. Don't count on there being a quiet time. The scheduled start was Thursday, but some have been here since the week started. We did get here until late yesterday (Friday). And there is still about a day and half.
My wife (and I by default) has/been involved in the local folk music scene for the last several decades, and we never knew about this. It pays to read the chapter news letters.
