Seems like a while back I read where someone had added an electric fan in
the generator compartment to help cool the Onan when running on hot days
driving down the road. My CRS has kicked in and I can't find that post.
Does anyone have any info on installing a such a fan?

Gary,

I don't know whether it would work with the Onan installed, but here's my
installation with the TroyBilt:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=31703&title=140cooling-fan-temporarily-mounted&cat=5330

since JBWelded aluminum plates with flanges as permanent mounts.

The fan came from eBay for about $15. I don't recall the CFM, but it was
pretty high -- really moves lots of air -- more than the B&S engine's
cooling fan can handle so the compartment's pretty well cooled.

Ken, your bringing in the ambient air in to the compartment?
Looking at the blade I should know, but better to ask.
