I have a Norcold 662 refrigerator that works pretty good on electric. Gas operation is getting cantankerous. I have cleaned and vacuumed out the burner, shined up and cleaned all the spade connections.

It does not like to light in gas mode, it may take 10 tries to light. It used to make multiple sparks, now just one spark per cycle.

When it starts to cool the freezer compartment cools first and then the refer compartment. Is this normal?

Have you removed the jet and cleaned it out? If that doesn't work then check the pressure of your gas supply.

Yes, that is normal.

If you have completely cleaned the burner to be sure it is spider web free, and re- set the spark electrodes to the proper distances (see the service manual) you might next want to check the gas pressure to be sure it is 11" WC. It sounds like you could have an improper gas/air mixture ratio, which makes it hard to ignite. On the other hand, the "just one spark per cycle" sounds like you still have a spark gap setting issue. At least it cools once going. Gas issues are minor compared to cooling issues.

Well it ran for hour on gas. Shut it down and pulled the PS board. R4 appears to have gotten real hot, scorched the back of the PCB. Now to look for a new PS.

Thanks Billy. there are a couple of guys on here having problems. Leon convinced me he can help you repair any rv refer. Therefore, I do not plan to spend another 1032 for a 3 way, ever again.

I have to admit that when my fancy computerized Dometic 3 way quit, I looked into a new cooling unit in Shipshy and it still didn't make economical sense. I wound up going with a 110 v cooler and a separate 110 freezer unit for a total of about @250. I've run those for about 5 years and never looked back even though I dry camp exclusively. Between my solar panel, 4 Trojans, and my small Kipor, I can easily camp for 10 days without a problem. If they crap out tomorrow, I'll run back to Home Depot and do it again.
