they way I understand it is you dont run extra fuel through the engine, rather it gets sprayed directly into the exhaust stream and ignited by a sparkplug near the tail pipe...

what the video said is that it cuts off the engine ignition so raw fuel is pumped through the engine and the spark plug ignites it.

My 49 Merc with straight pipes did a great job, a good 10-15 feet of flame.
Downshift to second at about 45mph and let er rip. BOOOM! Sheesh, that was a long time ago.

We did this on VW bugs back in the day. We'd use a stinger exhaust on a
header, which was a cone-shaped exhaust pipe that pointed straight out the
back of the engine, like a tail on a cat. No engine cover, of course. We
could make flames 15 feet long. But we also rebuilt those engines about
every 15 minutes.
