I am seeing the "behind the scenes" planning on this one. It is going to be a real blowout. If you are on the fence then jump on over. This one is located in a very good place for most, who are not members of Western States, so come on. I think Western States has a rally around the same time so no one will be left out. I know some who have already submitted vacation requests and been approved. It seems to me the fairgrounds are laid out pretty nice for our gathering. There are handicap spots for those with needs. Nice large building for our gatherings and the wifi should be ready when you arrive. Teri and I have stopped in there 2-3 times lately and may make one more tirp. Should you have any questions about the grounds get them to me before we head back up there and I will do my best to answer. The keepers of the grounds are the most cooperative I have seen in a while. Anything we come up with they try to provide. I love their attitude. This is a big place with lots of trees. Bring your bikes or scooters or just walk. Some dumps and some full hookups. Get your requests in early if you need anything special.
Should you need to call us, Teri and I have a new phone number. Same area code but the number is now 614-8449. This place is easy to get to from any direction. Coming from South jump off on 51 and follow it up through Carbondale to DuQuoin. Nice wide 2 lane and will save at least 15 miles. Or, you can just drive the interstate and get off to make the 15 mile drive west. Same from the north. Come down 51 or follow 57 to the exit and drive west 15 miles. 10 or 11 weeks til time. I think a big group from Tx. are heading up. I-30 and 67 is a good route to 60 and over. Most 4 lanes.

Dan, since you are in tight with the planners I,ve got to put in my request,,,, no wind like at Ammana. No rain like Berrin Springs. No steep hills like Estes Park.(hills and gravel and Gold Wings don't mix.) Concrete curbs and paved streets would be nice like the one in TX and CA. Have noticed that whenever we show up, no pavement. I know that alot of great people, food and fellowship will happen so just take care of the first 3. Thanks a bunch,,,,PL

Gene,
Asked, "are we supposed to know what state DuQuoin is in?"

I thought DuQuoin was like Texas. Draw its shape and
the whole world recogonizes it. DuQuoin, Indiana.

Bill and Emery,
Thanks for the correction.
I hope I didn't miss direct anybody.
DuQuoin, ILLINOIS.
Lets see. They both start with I.
They are both next to each other.
What else can I use for an excuse?
I'm old dumb and forgetful. Yep, that

Pete,

Good luck with Joe. I mentioned it to him a couple of months ago. He smiled
and said, "Well, it's closer." But, you know Joe.

I think the registration forms will be available next week. Check the website then. Just mark your calendar and get your vacation time spoken for. Gene knows where Du Quoin is. As yall know, he is cranky some days and funny others. But, he serves a great pupose and keeps us all informed with links. Hey, he even likes Volkswagens. Maybe he doesn't. I got Vdub from Gene.
I am sure everyone has looked at their maps by now but Du Quoin is about 50 miles north of the Southern most part of the state. Just find Cairo and run 51 north. Or, run 64 from St. Louis, a ways, then south on 51. You can get to Du Quoin from anywhere.
The sites at the place are all flat. I will pray for good weather. That is about all I can do about that. It should be warm days and cool nights in Du Quoin at that time of year.
One thing for those who have never attended an international gathering, expect to make lots of friends and see some nice looking coaches. There are a lot of good tech sessions too. Since I am more of a "social butterfly", as one has tagged me, I just float in and out of those. My friends and visiting is what has become most important to me now.
We hope to see you there.
Dan

Persistence. Looks like we're leaving the families behind (school/work) and be bachelors that week.

We were thinking about taking just one coach, but it will probably be both. knowing us, we'll be racing the whole way!!

Lol! I wish I had two! I would love to have a spare!

I'm trying to get the person who got me into all this (Joe Haddad) to attend this rally!

Insanity is when you're retirement plans call for building a huge garage with a pit for multiple gmc's!!!
