As previously reported, I came back from a long trip leaking coolant. As suspected it was the water pump.

I went up to NAPA with the list of number and they only had NAPA 43100. I purchased that and went back home to initiate tear down. I don't know if this is a good time or not, but since I wasn't certain what had to come off and what could just be loosened, tear down took 2 hours.

Upon reinstallation, I found one stripped hole in the plate to which the pump bolts. It wasn't stripped completely, just mostly, as soon as you put a little pressure on it, it popped. I went back up to NAPA and purchased their thread repair kit. Drilled, tapped and inserted and it was good to go. I finished the reassembly, filled it with coolant and let her idle in the driveway. No leaks. I stopped the engine and topped it off and took her for a short spin. Upon my return, still no leaks. I topped her off again and took her for a 20 minute ride, this time with the engine cover on so that I wasn't getting all the heat, still no leaks.

The process took 4.5 hours and was fairly straight-forward, but not easy due to the multiple strange positions above the hole in the floor. There were times when I was only supported by my knees and forehead on the edge of the hole. I'm hoping that I never have to do that one again...

Thanks to everyone that responded to the previous message and to Bill Massey for the help with the part numbers..

RIC to Hershey PA on Thursday. 250 miles each way -- longest voyage yet.
