It looks pretty similar to the GMC part sold by Jim K.

It uses a rubber bushing with no grease fitting. That's the part that wore out.

A machinist has it now and we are discussing the best repair.

He can make a bushing of rubber or nylon but I'd like to understand why they didn't use a metal bushing in the first place?
I'm sure there's a good reason but I'd like to understand.

Dave,

The original pressed in rubber bushing would not wear because it simply flexed as much as required - for about the first decade. Then it got hard and didn't flex and started to wear.

If you install a rubber bushing that is not bonded to both parts it will wear. If you get a bronze bushing fit with a grease fitting, you will have one more place to grease and it will only last as long as you remember to lubricate it regularly.

Thank you. That makes perfect sense. I'll just go with rubber.

And now that I understand it i can replace it myself. The insides were a total mystery until i put heat on it and flaming goo came out.

If your talking about the relay lever you might look at what Dave Lenzi
does to them. There is a picture on his vendor site.

How about making the bushing out of Urethane. If it works for control arms, it ought to work for the relay lever.
