I finally broke down and bought an LC-1 with an analog gauge, $199 from Amazon.
Running around on a test drive it was consistently below 14:1, like 13.8 or so until I put my foot in it, then it leaned out, well to just about 14.25. Kinda backwards, dang it.

I just rebuilt the carb and noticed it had 72 jets in it. So I guess I'll pop in a set of 70's and see how it goes.

Pretty neat watching the A/F ratio working.
