Trip from Home (Roseville, MN, suburb to both Minneapolis and St. Paul) to Reno/Carson City, Nevada and back. Total miles, 3834 (checked against Streets & Trips which was 3831, amazing), total fuel burned, not established yet but will be approximately 440 gallons for an average consumption of approximately 8.7 mpg. Haven’t done the final fill yet. Engine ran exquisitely and only a minor transmission problem do to driver error, overheating caused by pushing hard on US-50 in eastern Nevada and by climbing a relatively steep 3 mile grade at Great Basin National Park to the Baker Creek Camp Ground which resulted in some serious slippage. Just hope it did not cause some serious damage. All other problems also due to driver error and all related to house plumbing. Except for the transmission scare and plumbing problems, a very enjoyable trip (discounting it was to go to my wife’s sister’s funeral).
