Rob,

I assume you got the Verizon USB air card for your net service this year. Please let us know now and then how it is working out for you, service, speed, locations it has issues etc. I know Dan Gregg, my long haul trucker friend, and I have had very good experiences with it, but more input is always appreciated. You will be traveling a lot this year, so should have a good chance to review it for everyone.

Keep us posted now and then.

The 3g store has not been able to get the deal worked out so we can use our air card and not buy their's. Id like to be able to turn mine off to save some cash when I dont need it.
Keep us posted Rob.

Rob A.,

Sorry I have been a bit busy getting Double Trouble ready and I forgot!

I arrived on Friday, 18 June and the next morning I was at a Verizon
Corporate store.

I decided NOT to buy a modem off eBay in case I had any problems Verizon
could not pass the buck.

Costs (less tax):
$189.99 USB 760 Modem (available on eBay for around $75)
$ 35.00 Connection Fee
$ 59.99 Monthly Fee (5GB)

I decided to buy the following accessories:
$ 19.99 Window Mount Antenna
$ 9.99 Antenna Cable to Modem Adapter

So far I have only used it once as I am in a motel with very fast wireless
service and I don't want to cut into the 5 GB if I don't have to!

I did note that it was FAST also!

I also bought the Garmin Laptop Kit and will be using it on the trip from
Houston to Orlando and we'll see how good that works on the Acer Aspire.

Regards,
Rob M.
