Probably been addressed thousands of times, but I didn't see any searchable
history on the list site. One side had been leaking despite two new shut
off valves, tons of sealing tape and a new o ring. Do bags sometimes
leak? It is an old one, but I thought the only failure mode was blowing up. It
leaks down after about 3-4 hours, that corner is supported by a wood block
when parked.
TIA

Yes, they can leak. I had a sharp pebble get between a fold and it cut
a pinhole into the bag.

Try using some soap solution to see if you have any bubbles which show
a leak. Or you can remove the bag, inflate it, and check it in a tank
or bathtub.

Randy,

I have a 78 and 1 of the original bags kept leaking so I bit the bullet and changed out both sides completely. When I took the "bad bag" out I noticed it has a heavy wear mark where folds over itself. Since I am in the rubber industry I could have easily fixed it but it was after I had ordered the new bags.

I would suggest taking the bag/cones off first to see if it might have some damage.

Also, people LOVE the teflon tape but I have had much better luck with teflon paste. It is a little more expensive but it is a very good seal for pneumatic applications.

Another option could be that you have leaky valves and your bag is in perfectly good shape!?!?

I hope you find a good solution to your problem.
