Had a nice weekend trip. Left Fri night and went to Ditto Landing just south of Huntsville AL. Campground was nice, good access to the TN river, shaded spots, lots of 50 amp spots, reasonable rates, nice boat facilities. Unfortunately the bathroom was disgusting. Big drawback for me and the wife.

Went to the Space and Rocket Museum in Huntsville. Interesting, but very steep at $20 an adult considering what they have. If you are really into the development of the Saturn V, it would be neat. There isn't a whole lot here for the money though. We probably won't be back.

Short trip down to Smith Lake in Cullman AL. Really nice, really large, very reasonably priced campground. Very wooded, wonderful bathroom facilities. Has a great waterslide and pool complex, though it does cost an extra $5 a day per person. Also nice lake access for boating, swimming, fishing etc. We will be back as this one is very nice and only about 1:20 minutes north of Birmingham.

GMC ran great even in the brutal heat/humidity. Hit some rain on the way up to Huntsville but the electric wipers were a huge improvement and help. Lost the dash ac on the way back. Heard the belt squealing so I'll start there. Doesn't seem to come on at speed. A job for next weekend.

Hope everyone had a good Father's Day Weekend!

Thanks,

Trips like that are great. Our A/C started to squeal too at Highway speeds, just had to tighten the belt a little.
Have you tried West Point Lake, at West Point, Ga? Right there on the Ga/ALabama Border. The Corp of Engineers has a wonderful campground, big trees, quiet secluded sites, clean bathrooms with Hot Showers. We have the 65+ card so we get 50% off at all of their parks.
