I wonder if someone might have a good picture of the routing of the starter cable and starter solenoid wire. I didn't take a picture of that when I took apart my engine, and now both are hanging loose and way too close to the exhaust manifold. The starter cable has a bracket, but it is not very clear where it attaches.

Also, is there a good already-available passage one can use to route gauge lines from the dash area to the engine compartment? Or is it a matter of (gasp) drilling new holes?

Check out the hole for the speedo cable; I have a lot of wires running
through there. If the speedo cable jams, I suppose I could have a mess on my
hands.

Awhile back I had a post labeled "FIRE". Was looking for sugestions and ideas on how to minimize the risk of fire. I pulled the front end off and moved it into the shop and redid everything. Cad 500, bushings, Hubler conversion. Galvanized frame, etc., etc.. In putting it back together I've used 5 tyraps total. I ran wires for my sensors in flexable metalic conduit. AL size 3/8.{Flex}. Worked real well. Made straps out of scrap AL 1" wide by bending around a rod and then drilling. No nylon/plastic/fuel/burnable tyraps. To the left of the steering collum is a slot thats covered with rubber, thats where I ran some of mine. Also ran the oil pressure and fuel pressure through 1/8" copper lines. No burn. (with a fuel pressure isolator of course.)JWID,,,PL
