After much discussion about what we want to do with the next ten years of
life (assuming that we'll be granted such) we have purchased a configuration
with a rear bed, side dry bath, center kitchen and front living arrangement.
The new unit even has single air bag suspension and Alcoa wheels all around
plus two Duo-Therm heat pumps and a three-way Dometic refrig.

As a result we've decided to sell Silver Lady, the 78 Royale rear bath we've
owned since 2007 and have brought back to life. We've enjoyed putting on
6,000 miles or so per year since owning her. She has been used.

Next week I'll be updating the photos to the photo site and put up some
information about her on other sites.

Until then, here's the brief history of what has been done.

2005
Repainted

2007
Ramco remote/heat mirrors
Rebuilt QuadraJet
New sparkplug wires and major tune-up

2008
New ceiling
New captains chairs
Electric wipers
Electronic cruise control
Counter tops
Sinks and faucets
Wedgewood two-burner stove
Sony Radio with CD, Aux-in, XM-ready
Sharp convection/microwave oven
Reupholstered dinette and couches
Front bumper
Water Pump
KYB Shocks
Firestone air bags
Halon fire extinguisher for engine are
Carpet

2009
Black holding tank
Thetford toilet
Frame-to-body pads
Fiberglass tub/shower
Suburban furnace
Water heater
Eagle alloys
Geo-Trac radial tires
Ragusa step
Steering linkage
Macerator (purchased but not installed)

Purchased for $15,900. Total for parts (new/replace) equals $14,670. I'll
advertise for $24,700. Anyone on here can have her for $23,600.

The 30/30 warranty is miles/minutes, which ever comes first.

Enjoy the SOB. Was good knowing you and having you active in Eastern States. Come on over to Du Quoin. We can park you on the back 40 with the other "used to be's".
If I had one that big I would sell the house and move in.

Dan,

Who said I was going away?

I'm committed to Du Quoin and Eastern States. I still think the GMC is the
best looking motorhome out there. I still love the design concept and
engineering. It just doesn't have the capacity we need for having others
along for the ride in addition to spending more time on the road with two
dogs. If it were just the two of us or if I were retired military I'd own
two coaches just like one of my heros. But, the reality is Uncle Sam didn't
want me, the economy went sour and self-employment dried up with it.

We'll also be selling our house so we can have more room and a flat spot for
a pad. You know, we just might move into the new HR for a short while.

There's more to the GMC TZE than the coach and you know that. It's the
people that love it that make the clubs what they are. Who'd want to walk
away from that?

Should have bought a stretch. Doc would have helped you look.
I wont really miss you but Martha is a cut above. Teri and I will miss her.

Your Royale sure is a beauty Bryon.
If you do any serious traveling, stop by the wild, wild west and take
us up on our offer of a full hookup RV site, complete with WiFi and a
private driveway just for our guests. If you don't knock on the door,
you could be there for days before we discovered you.

Sounds like a great coach with a better warranty than I got. Best of luck

Arizona and other parts of the west are on our roadmap for the future.

Thanks for the offer. Do I need to schedule when you'll be around or do I
just catch you on the road somewhere and say "I'm heading to your house"?

Thanks for the compliment. Coming from you I consider that an honor. Your
GMC is a beauty also. More so, really.

The similarities are amazing, aren't they?

I looked long and hard at a rear twin. I also looked long and hard on the
cash it would take to get it in good shape (equal to Silver Lady). Then I
looked at the bargain I had come across. It quickly turned into a business
decision. You'll never know the agonizing we did over the switch. It wasn't
easy. The business part was easy. The heart part wasn't. Several current and
former GMC owners and two owners of both helped us in getting over that
part.

Keep that Sequoia in good shape. You have a rare unit that I consider to be
the logical interior.

I figured 30 miles or 30 hours was pretty good. Better than what I got, too.

Just give a call. I installed a new 30a box right next to the RV port
so you don't even have to throw the line over the wall. Just plug in
and enjoy. Call a day ahead, or don't.

You can do that? I always thought when you sold a house, the buyers got the property it sat on (pad) too. Very Happy

I really don't think so, but that reminded me of the interview with the
couple who won a few million in the GA lottery some years back: "What are
you going to do now that you've got all that money?" "Buy a double-wide and
move to Alabama!"

In other words: Gonna enjoy the finer things in life! :-)

It's all in knowing how to pitch a deal. I like the location. I figure we
can pour a new pad over half the basement and use the other half for
swimming or ice skating depending on the season. Hopefully the black water
won't mix with the water intended for the pool.
