Asked my son to pull them off a long time ago. Didn't mark them or note which is right or left. They are not the same. Was thinking of holding them up and see if the bolt holes line up. One has a rubber mud flap. Anybody know which side is which? Also, One has a split, which I can repair but where 2 of the clips/holes go the plastic is gone. Tough to repair. I guess I could just move the hole 1 to 2 inches over. Thaks for any ideas,,,,,,PL

Paul,
I'm pretty sure that mud flap goes to the rear. Maybe the other liner
will fit the other side. :-)
I've not only repaired, but divided each of mine into inner and outer
halves for easier R&R. Just pop rivet sheet aluminum over any place
needing repair.

I just looked at my 75 Palm Beach, and the 'mudflap' is on the front of the passenger side wheelwell liner.

Paul,
I just had a call from someone else to inform me that the "mud" flap
you're talking about is probably the same one George refers to -- that
little 2"-3" deep flexible thing on the front of the passenger side
wheel well liner. I'd never call that a mud flap -- that's what I
call those big things I've got almost dragging the ground on the REAR
of mine -- I mean, what good would MUD FLAPS do in FRONT of the
wheels???
So, if your mud flap is big, it goes to the rear. If it's little, it
goes to the front.
Aren't you glad I spoke up? Now you know exactly where they go. :-)

The flat section goes forward. As the flap is attached to the flat part.. So the flap goes next to your battery.
I have repaired cracks with a large soldering iron. If you get some of the same kind of plastic, you can build up the missing parts.
Maybe you can cut a vent hole or two near the motor to "find" some of the same kind of plastic?
Ken's idea of dividing into inner and outer is a good idea. Removing and and reinstalling the bolts though the body is hard on the holes in the body. I still need to do this...

On my 78 EL II, the "flap" is on the passenger side. Flap is about 4"
by 8" and is stapled to the wheel liner.
