Ok - I'm still trying to make sense of this physical site. For instance, why are there so many separate posts regarding Vapor lock? Looks like that would be chained together. Just wondering. The answer is probably obvious.

The problem is you are looking at a conglomeration of two systems.

The first is the site that you are using and itdoes indeed put the threads and secondary threads together you expect expect.

The second site is an email based forwarding system with very little intelligence. It relies on each users email program to maintain the integrity of the email being sent out to the reply coming back. Each email going out to the user has the assigned message number embedded in it. when I user replies it is up to his email program to keep the assigned message number inside it. If it doesn't, then you have the busted threads that you are seeing.

You can tell from the message you are viewing if the originator is an emailer by looking at the topic line. If the topic starts with [GMCnet] then the posting came from the email system. Also if you see the "unsubscribe" message appended to the bottom of the posting it came from the email system.

You are doing nothing wrong.

If folks are on the forum and hit reply it will stay in the thread and not start a new one. This vapor lock one is the worst I have ever seen for so many new threads on the forum. Too many for me to dig all of them out.
