Mac,
Aspect ratio is not all there is to it. What I believe is being discussed here is how much the tire deflects or "squashes" down with weight on it. Aspect ratio refers to,as I'm sure you know, the height of the tire vs the width. I think there is a valid concern with radial tires affecting the suspension settings.
On a slightly different subject, a friend stopped by and helped me bleed the brakes after installing the two front rear axle wheel brake cylinders and we took the rig for a little ride.  The brakes work fine, but I sure can feel the CV joints binding on initial take off.  I will have to lower the front even without scales. It's just too problematic. I will equalize the front using measurement for now, then worry about evening out the weight later.  As I mentioned before, the PO provided me with two sticks, one for the front and one for the rear to be used to check the ride height. That will have to do for now. Too bad to as we got the front  weight on the wheels within 25lbs of each other.
