Went camping. Nothing Broke. Boring post.
Drove from home near Springfield IL to Red Hills State Park near Sumner IL, was about 170 miles each way. One of my brothers & SIL were camping there in their popup, and my parents stayed in the "rent a cabin". My other two brothers each visited but did not stay overnight. It was a nice family camp out, which is something we have rarely done.
While this was not the first time we have gone camping in the coach, it was the first time we had hot & cold running water and working toilet and shower. That made it much more pleasant. I did learn that my macerator hose probably needs to be a little longer.
My mother is the eternal pessimist and I heard no end of "Are you sure that old thing will make it here/home?" It did
We went down on Thursday and came home Sunday. I drove through Effingham both days. I know Dan and Teri were there for the VW event, but I think they were there Friday and Saturday, so did not get to meet up.
Coming home, the "Hot Rod Magazine's Power Tour" was going through Springfield IL, and several classic cars were on display. We had several people noticing the coach as we drove through town, next to the streets were the cars were displayed. We also met several cars cruising outside Springfield. A bunch of vehicles older than the one I was driving was a nice way to end the trip.
There is still much to do to my GMC, but a trip like this was a great confidence builder.
