Hi,
Anyone have any tricks on unsticking a stuck copilot seat belt?
We were able to pull it out and hold it with a bungee to the console table, then belt her in. I *think* this is an original.

Happened on our return from Auburn, Ca GMCWS rally.
The only real problem in a 2000 mile trip!! Down the Oregon coast, through the Redwoods, then to Auburn, Ca and back through Medford, on to the Shakespeare festival in Ashland, Or, and then on to Ellensburg, WA.
( With a stop at a liquour store in California to stock up --mostly scotch--50% plus savings from Wash prices!)
We traveled with our new puppy, a cat, and my wife.
We have a 1975 Eleganza II.

If I allow the belt to retract, it won't come out again without some laborious inch-by-inch pulling. We have to keep it out with a bungee cord.

Sometimes one can feel inside the housing around the belt end mounting. Try to get the troublesome belt out as far as you can and then pull out the other one the same distance. See if something feels different. I have found that sometimes the "stuck" belt has a twist in it inside the housing.

Hi Ernie

I remember having the same issue with my co-pilots retractable belt and when I removed the cover it was something obvious and an easy fix but I don't remember exactly what it was. CRS but do seem to remember a little ratchet or pall that was sticking that I was able to adjust. HTH

I have had two stuck belts on two different vehicles. When I took the retractor cover off in both cases I found a foreign object stuck in side. Unbolt it off of the floor and take it apart. I bet you will find something inside.
