Well I did it. the flowmaster is in.
It sounds OK, still a little rap when you get on it, not as bad as the 'Hushpower'.
My Apologies to Chiltons...
Anyway here are the promised 3 easy steps
1. disconnect battery
2. chock the wheels
3. Replace exhaust system
OK maybe I should expand on item 3 a bit.
I ended up surgically altering the flowmaster to make it fit. Anna Nichole would be proud.
I cut it down length wise to 8" wide and welded the plates back on.
I chopped off a corner as it was hitting the diagonal frame rail
I also had to expand the frame rail at the front of the muffler to get the muffler in far enough. I used my heat wrench (thanks Dad!) and a 2lb hammer.
I made the Y pipe from 4 pieces of 2.5" x 18" sections from the auto store. Carquest provided 3 90 degree elbows and 14' of 3" tubing.
I don't know how you'd do this with out a bunch of tools.
I used both my MIG and my oxy/Act torch, and well just a hack saw and more than 1 beer. It also took me at least 3 weeks working admittedly sporadically.
The boss says it's good enough!
All that is left is a few hangers and tighten some clamps
Pictures you say?
We got pictures
