It rained here today so I've found the leak I was told about. I think
it's where the seam between the last rear section of roof meets the one
in front of it.

Which sealant should I use to try to close this up?

Dc,
I used Sikaflex 227 to solve my leaks but I also had the roof lining out and
found that where those leaks were there was bolts holding the rear section
to the frame and they had rusted to the point they were not doing there
intended job so I replaced them and thus pulled the sections closer together
and with the sikaflex sealing it was perfect.

This is what I use for sealing the coach, have had it on the roof front section to center section main seam for 3 years now and is still in perfect condition.

Rob,
All thou this had great reviews at first, people that have used this
have had the paint peel off of the sealed area after a few years. The
Dupont seam sealer is available at most Auto paint suppliers and in
the same size tube as the PL product and also in smaller size.

I have been told that the 3M sealant is the right way to go as well. Bruce Tara, I believe used it.

What's the minimum width of bead you could get away with?

My coach's PO used the maximum width (in white on a tan coach) but the seams don't leak.

My folks have a body shop here in Novato, CA. I'm going to start my
weekend there tomorrow. Pop says that he's got just the right thing, a
sealant that hardens but not too much to flex a little. He also says
that there's a new paint that goes on and penetrates a bit to seal.

He's been a body man and painter all his life, they used to shoot a lot
of IMRON custom jobs. The paint and materials they're using now have
changed dramatically with the shift to water-based paints. They can
tint, match, and do everything they used to do but they almost squirt
the paint on instead of spray it now.

There's also some new metal flake out now that looks like a bass boat.
They shouldn't have told me that!

I'll report back.

I use ProFlex RV. It has worked good but is messy. It has stopped my leaks ..well for now it is a GMC. I use to use PlL Polyurethane like was listed below until my RV service said they had better results with ProFlexRV.

Thanks, Art.
I will catalog that number and use it if I have future need. I have also used the P/L polyurethane in the past and it seems to hold up well but I'll give the other a try.
