My oil pressure sensor is leaking. What can I use around the threads. Is teflon OK? Is it oil resistant ? What else ?

Bernard,
The use of teflon tape on the threads of an electrical sensor is not
recommended because it can isolate the device from the essential ground.
Teflon enhanced pipe thread paste seems less prone to preventing the needed
metal to metal contact.

Ken,
I got the bright idea to connect two oil pressure sensors in Double Trouble;
one to feed the OEM gage and the second to feed the Digi-panel.
Dennis Sexton and I went to the main Napa store in Memphis and I got two of
them.
When I opened the box I noticed that they were not made the same.
I explained what I was doing and asked if they would pull all the stock so I
could get two that were the same. They did and I found two that were
identical and had manufacturing/test dates that were very close.
At any rate I plumbed them in and it didn't work, evidently the Digi-panel
needs to have the OEM gage in the loop.
Oh yeah, IIRC the threads on all of them were all with sealant out of the
box.
