Hi List,

In my search I ran across a GMC owner who'd like to fix his coach up a
bit. Where would you take one in the Sacramento area?

He's not so good with the internet, so I'd like to pass along your
recommendations to him.

Thanks

DC

Though it's a bit of a drive, I think most would reccommend seeing JimK at Applied GMC in Fremont, Ca. He seems to be the main GMC guru in Northern California. If he can't go that far, Jim has the parts and advice to help.

He's really not up to doing the work himself and Fremont isn't really an
option.

He's about to take it to Midas and I'm trying to save him from doing that!

Has anyone had any experiences with RV shops around Sacramento?

DC

I've got to say that everyone we've met so far with a GMC have been just
really great people. Really nice and outgoing folks even when things
are bumpy.

There are several GMC owners there that I might be able to have him
contact to find out where they have work done.
We do work on their coaches and they drop it off.
Take it to any shop then he will find that it might be worth the 120 mile trip.
When you do not belong to any local clubs, you have no choice.
I am the biggest promoter of the 49er GMC Club as I want our customers
to be able to know each other in the area.
I have 5 people that can guide him.
He will need to get motivated and call our office and have our staff
give him the list.

The closest is probably Jim Kanomata in Fremont, about 125 miles south
of Sacramento.

And Amtrak runs the Capitol Corridor train right back to Sacto from Fremont. Makes it easy to get home after dropping off the coach.

Not to mention all the other stuff there is to do in Fremont.

He might also get some direction by dropping in and asking questions at the GMCWS Rally in Auburn.  It starts tomorrow and runs till early next week at the Auburn fairgrounds.  Some of us will have a roster of 49er club members in the Sacramento Area.  I get to Sacramento weekly but my GMC repair work is either done in Fremont, by myself, or at my Stepson's Honda repair shop in Roseville East of Sacramento (he is not a GMC expert but when it comes to ordinary repairs subject to knuckle skinning, I choose his knuckles as a human sacrifice rather than mine.)

It would be a good idea for him to drop over to the GMCWS rally at
Auburn (Gold Country Fair) and look at some coaches, talk to some
owners, and get to know Jim K. The rally starts today.
