Interesting!
Unfortunately Doubt that the belt would meet Department of Transport
Australian Design Rules and/or the New South Wales Roads and Traffic
Administration requirements!
However, I've been told that a motorcycle type chain does. The brake
booster/master cylinder in The Blue Streak has not been moved; the pedal is
connected to it via a shaft under the floor! The gas pedal and hand brake
use the OEM flexible cable.
Could you imagine trying to drive a GMC through a chain that had a bit of
wear in it! Hooley Dooley!

Rob: Do you remember the mid '60's Fords and Chevs? I swear they had a pointer only attached to the steering wheel. When you turned the wheel, the pointer moved and a little bitty person under the hood matched up the pointer with another one that was actually attached to the wheels. At least that was my impression. Talk about wobbly handling! A chain with wear would have been a real improvement on those rigs.
