... Personally I would bite the bullet and tear the front
suspension, steering, and front axles all apart in one
shot and rebuild the lot. It won't be cheap BUT once
you're done, you're done! ...

That mirrors my thoughts.

I am still deciding on WHAT coach to rebuild, but whatever one it is, I plan on driving it 30 years from now. Might as well make it "new" now.

If one was to rebuild "everything" it looks cheaper to go with the Hubler Heavy Duty Front End Kit from Jim K. Besides being an "upgrade," it seems to be the cheaper way to go when adding up the numbers.

I have made a spreadsheet with the prices of the OEM style parts and the Hubler parts. I still have some questions but it is looking like staying "OEM style" is a few hundred dollars more.

I am not in a big hurry (yet) and I need to get more information on part sourcing. (I will need replacement parts -- sometime. And I do not expect Jim K. to be selling much of anything 25 to 30 years from now!)

Sometime I have to get around to calling Jim K. and getting my questions answered. (Just need to get my questions lined up.)

Mike, line up your questions and call Jim. If I had the "cash" I would have that new frontend in my coach. I have friends that are not on the net that got it. They say the thing drives ubelievably better than the stock setup. Parts will be there in 30 years for you. Since I can not afford it all at once I have been picking up stock parts to have Dave Lenzi build them for me. I am looking for hubs and knuckles at this point. The hubs are hard to find. I have the lower control arms, that Steve built for me, and a new set of bearings that Lenzi drilled. So, one of these days it will all come together. Nothing wrong with my frontend but I, like you, am looking to the future. I don't think the new frontend can be beat. I also think that a Lenzi built stock system will be good for a long long time.

We will have people that can continue producing parts for these
coaches for many more years
Biggest problem is with those that are not commited to serve the
community and feel it is a hobby.

I get an education every time I come out there and watch Donny work. Wish I was close so I could just hang out there and see him install one of the new frontends. I really think that is the best way to go. It is just easier for me to pick up parts. That way no big expense all at once. The limited slip is another thing I have decided is a good thing. I could have gotten myself out of the ditch in Tn. if I had one installed. Would have kept Teri out of the street flagging traffic down for a tow.

Dan,
IIRC, WE built those together. By the end of the day, you were just
as tired and dirty as I was.
