The ac compressor has developed a bad leak at the front. This is the 3rd rebuilt compressor in 14 years. Is there an additive that will stop the leak or should I buy a new one this time? Could someone furnish me the brand or name of the correct one and tell me where to find directions for replacing this? Thanks..........

No additive. Anything in there to stop a leak would wreak havoc with
the rest of the system once it migrates there. Many of us have done
away with the older Dana compressors and have gone to modern ones.
The low rider guys have created a real demand for high output
compressors necessary to run the air systems in their screwed up cars.
Probably the king of the hill is the Zenith Air, they make several
different models.

Don,

Just read Steve's first two sentences and ignore the rest. He'll disavow
the rest when he recognizes that you're talking about the Air Conditioning
compressor. :-)

Get yourself a Sanden or clone. It will be MUCH easier to horse into place,
will perform better, and probably last longer. A lot of the Sandens/clones
on heavy trucks even have the same hose connections as our A-6's, I've
recently learned.
