Well, It dawned on me today. After 5 years, I now have a usable coach. The determining factor is that the toilet is now usable. That's right. I finally completed my "Wet Systems Test" today. All my new plumbing works 100%. The only relic left from the old system is the City water pressure regulator, a 160-1 Shur Flow. It leaks go figure. The only part I didn't change failed, but I half expected that. I remember my Dad changing this stupid thing on our 1976 Six Pac camper a few times.

I took the little bugger apart, and All I really need to do is change the seal at the inlet so it functions properly as a check valve. I cleaned out all the rust, but since the MFG ground the springs flat at each end, it will probably rust again. Maybe I will use a *normal* regulator and install a hose reel. No worries, my tanks do not leak and my pump system works really well. Hot and cold running water. Wow. A milestone has been reached.

I started the day installing the second slider valve at the tank flange per Dan and a few others' suggestion. Macerator is installed, but still need to wire.

Next step is to send the carb off for rebuild and connect the fuel and elect lines to the genny, and get a couple of golf car batteries. The rest of the trim work can wait. I'm going camping...

Chris, I can hear the excitement as you typed that note. Great. You will like the porcelan throne. I got one from Steve F. a couple of years back. Great. Makes the job easier too, ha.
Can't wait to see you running your own maserator.

Yeah, Next weekend the carb comes out for rebuild too. While it is out. Inspection of the manifold, replace leaky valve cover gaskets (new 350 diesel oil pan gasket seems to be doing it's job) and install the bolt lock tabs on the exhausts.

Having been through a terrible experience, I have these thoughts

ONE
If you have a GMC Motorhome Numbered Carborator, MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE BACK!!! There is a difference in a motorhome carb and a Car Carb.

TWO
If you send it out, MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT SENDING IT TO ANOTHER REBUILDER!!! If there is warrentee issues, the company you sent to does not want to back it up, and neither does the contracted carb rebuilder.

LarC ( Nothing worse than issues with the carb for a GMC Motorhome )

Larry,

I remember reading your saga, what a bloody nightmare that was!

I had the carb on Double Trouble rebuilt by Dick Paterson.

Make darn sure your carb is the one that gets rebuilt. Your best bet
is to send it to Patterson and have it done correctly. Even
knowledgable locals will not put the correct replacement parts in it.
