I had my set up for my Cochlear Implant yesterday and my hearing right
now is amazing. Even the audiologists and the factory rep were amazed
with it's effect. Factory rep was there as it's the latest model and
the first one they've set up here in Nashville. Now, maybe, I'll be
able to hear when I lug the engine(GMC content) on these hills around
here without blowing the dang engine.
I did get to hear my grandson cry last night for the first time. It
was music to my ear. Sounds I haven't heard in years are coming
through. I even had lunch with Donna yesterday in the middle of the
setup as a test and was able to hold a conversation with her over loud
music without having to resort to reading her lips or asking for
repeats on what she said.
Truly a miracle as I haven't heard anything like this in 30 years. It
works and works well even though this is the first programming.

Roger,
Great news!
It must be inspiring to regain a lost-sense after that period of time.

Good news. Will they train you on how to selectively tune out some things?
Seriously, this has to be a blessing. You can have a conversation and
everyone will get to enjoy stress-free interaction.
Imagine, you get to hear road noise, birds, whispers behind your back, in
addition to the cry of a little one.
By the way, I forgot to honk on my way back up 65 last Sunday until I was
nearly to Veterans Parkway and Two Mile Pike.
