Anybody know where i can find heavy duty battery post extenders for
Trojan T-145 deep cycle batteries?
(These have the same 9/16" post as the standard T-105 batteries)
I rigged something up last spring after doing the big solar install,
using deep nuts and a secondary bolt on each post
(so i could run 4/0 cable in series / parallel... with 3 solar
regulators, inverter/charger, in-line fuses...
There's a LOT of copper connections going on... hence the huge need
for the post extenders!)

So now after parking at the beach and being exposed to the salty air,
one year later everything's corroded and its time for maintenance; and
i'm not gonna dig into that job without having the right stuff to
replace the rigged-up parts.
So any referrals appreciated. I've called around locally and haven't
had any luck. I think it might have to be mail order.

BTW: Yes, it IS possible to use the heavier duty (taller) T-145
batteries up front in the GMC, in conjunction with Ragusa's excellent
aluminum battery trays... But you'll have to wrestle and wrestle to
get them in, clearance is really tight, and checking water levels sure
isn't any fun! But in my application (solar sound system), i needed
as much deep cycle as possible.
So i've got 2 in the rear back compartment and 4 up front.... join-
able in the middle with a Perko marine battery combiner right where
the new inverter / charger sits. Yes, in the same Eleganza
compartment where the old buzzbox converter used to hum away, we've
now upgraded from a Statpower 40 watt charger / 1800 watt inverter, to
a Magnum MS-2812, 125 watt charger / 2800 watt sine wave inverter...
another tight fit!
Charged by 990 watts of panels, we couldn't be happier with the
system... its been working great!

Let me know if anybody needs particulars....

cheers all,
Greg
