I need to replace the ceiling panels in the Birchhaven I am getting ready
to sell, and I would like to know what the best way is to remove the
overhead cabinets. I have found the trim inside the cabinet, right behind the
cabinet face, that covers up the screws going into the roof.

However I have not been able to figure out how the back of the cabinet is
attached to the wall. There is a horizontal piece about halfway up the back
of the cabinet, between the cabinet and the outer wall. There are two 3/4"
x 1-1/2" strips beneath this horizontal piece. The outer one, next to the
coach wall, is screwed to the wall with a screw through the 3/4" edge of the
strip, and there is no way to remove these screws until the cabinet is
dropped down. The inner strip is next to the back of the cabinet and is
stapled to that horizontal piece. Do I have to rip out this stapled piece to get
the cabinet loose?

I believe I also have to remove that wine cabinet on top of the kitchen
counter top - any advice on how to do that? Is the overhead cabinet actually
attached to the wine cabinet?

I assume I will have to rip out the refrigerator cabinet too, which means
first pulling out the refrigerator. (?)

Any help from anyone who has done these Coachmen-built cabinets would be
greatly appreciated.

I would appreciate a copy of your reply sent to my email address, if you
could. reo43@aol.com

Thanks,

Lot of good info here, Gene. But I didn't see anything that pertains to the Coachmen built cabinets.
