As soon as I release the the starter switch after the onan fires up it kills just like you shut it off. The oil level is full. Any place to start?
Thanks again.

Or oil pressure switch. Unplug it and see if it runs. Do not run it long as it may have no oil pressure.
If it does run with the switch unplugged go get another oil pressure switch and try again.

Oil pressure switch is easy to get. VW 1600 oil pressure switch @ local auto parts store, if that is the problem.

My thinking is that the fuel pump is actuated as long as the start
button is depressed and drops off line as soon as it is released.
Jumper 5 to 9 (IIRC) on the ckt board and see if it still does it.

By jumpering the 9 to 5 terminals you have bypassed the Onan control
board. This board has more on it than just the low oil pressure
sensor. You might find that after you replace the low oil pressure
switch you still have problems. If so, you might want to send the
board to Duane Simmons for repair.

Unplug the oil switch first and try to run it. The switch may be OK. There are several other things that can cause this beside the switch.

Yes, like the engine alternator under the flywheel, or the voltage regulator loading it down.

The regulator can just be disconnected unless you have a stand alone generator starting battery.

You can use a small transformer, tapped off the generator, to "replace" the engine alternator.

I wasn't going to mention that until we got past the oil pressure switch.

I replaced the oil pressure switch and it did not solve my problem. I checked the oil pressure and it was at about 30lbs.
Thanks
