I keep finding out many things about this motor home.

I know I have a battery to start the engine, a deep cycle
battery in the generator compartment. Now, is there one
more battery that is what they call a house battery, and where
is it located, and it the battery for the bat. boost on the dash?

The house battery is located in the generator compartment.
You'll need to remove the cover to access it.

With a 78 Eleganza II you probably have only two batteries. The
engine battery up front and then a large battery in the compartment
just behind the Onan.
The compartment originally have a cover on it but it might be
missing. That battery is called the house battery and it is also used
to start the Onan. It is ideally a deep cycle battery. Many of us
have replaced it with two 6 volt golf cart batteries wired in series
(the positive of one to the negative of the other). This is then
treated as a single 12 volt battery. The use of the two golf cart
batteries (which are deep cycle batteries) gives more capacity.

The battery boost switch on the dash does connect the house battery to
the engine battery.
