I'm looking at getting the air dash air conditioner compressor running again. I believe my clutch is not working. I read in some earlier post on this subject that they're are many versions of compressors for the 455 olds. Does anyone have a clutch part number that I can give the parts store if I go to get a replacement?

I don't have part numbers, but wanted to mention that it's not a particularly easy part to change. Need a special puller for the clutch hub, and either a special puller or a good correct sized gear puller for the clutch pulley and magnet assembly itself. Having said that. It's a pretty rare failure, as it's just a big electromagnetic that pulls the hub in. It's much more likely that there is an electrical problem (fuse, switch, low pressure switch, or wiring) or a low charge that keeps it from working. It's worth either checking for power at the clutch connector, or better yet, using a jumper lead to power it up and see what happens before you tear into it further.

It is dollar wise to replace it with a rebuilt unit.

'm not sure, but the pully diameter is the main differance between the
Toronado and coach.

I replaced mine on the coach with one off of a Toronado. Mine had a bad bearing. I choose the Toronado one because it had a smaller pulley and would give more cooling at slower speeds.

If you should decide that it is the clutch you can borrow a tool for
removing it from Autozone under their free tool loan program. i am
told that this can be done without removing the compressor from the
motorhome. I have not done this myself, though.

Here is a nice photo album by EMBREP of replacing the AC compressor clutch bearing without removing the
compressor.

I changed the bearing on my compressor last year as you can see from my pics that Dennis posted. I rented the puller from Autozone, which was free! You just need to leave a deposit on your credit card. However they did not have the install tool that would fit. I think I just used a socket to drive it back on.
The procedure I used was found on the internet. Check out this link for a very detailed procedure.
