Well, looks like I'm going to use stock GM TBI on our beast. I found a guy selling
a reasonably complete tbi, harness, sensors, etc, from a 1989 454 for less
than I could get it from pick-n-pull.
I'll need a bunch of other stuff to go with it though. I know folks here have gone
through this, but I'm having real trouble finding part numbers.
For the tbi adapter plate, would this work?

Description is: Trans Dapt 969-2207 Quadrajet 4bbl to Chevy Big Block TBI, rear mount
Any suggestions for fuel pumps? I'm guessing I'll need up to around 20psi, externally mounted.
Should I just find an external pump from a late 80's ford truck? Or are those higher pressure
than needed here?
And then there's the prom. Can I just start with the 454 chips, or should I be looking for a custom 455 solution?
I'd ask this in the GMC EFI forum, but it seems too newbie compared to the intricacies of EBL tweaking.

Karen,
All of the information you need is contained in Ray Swartzendruber's DIY EFI
presentation. Problem is, gmceast.com is returning an error when that's
selected. I'll notify Byron Songer & I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
Your situation is a perfect one for GMCMH-EFI -- EBL is not our only
interest.
You should seriously consider upgrading to EBL Flash -- it will immediately
save you from being dependent upon others to provide you with an EPROM
appropriate for your coach (or, more likely, as series of EPROMs until you
get it all tweaked).
Keep checking www.gmceast.com/Tech Docs for 'Druber's presentation -- it's
by far the best starting place available, IMHO.

Thanks Ken. I've read Richard Waters' presentation about 20 times, but it's specific to a Holley kit.
I hadn't seen the others.

Karen,
Go first to the synopses of the tech docs and select 'Druber's presentation
from there -- that link works. Be patient; 71 pages of .pdf takes a while
to download.

A quick question on this: he mentions John Wilson's www.customefis.com as a good source of parts and a nice DIY guide.
However, that website appears to have been taken over by alien search robots. I can't get anything useful out of it.
Does anyone know where I can get that DIY guide??

Karen,
John Wilson, formerly from about 50 miles from me, has disappeared from the
scene. He was/is a brilliant engineer but a poor businessman. Couldn't
keep up with his promises. Don't worry about it -- 'Druber's and other
available information replaces him quite nicely.

Ken, I can get to the website and review the tech reports but not Druber's.
