Question regarding OEM airbag maintenance.

I have my airbags off doing other maintenance and other then just cleaning with soap and water, is there anything else recommended. I thought I recall a thread that some folks were using udder cream on the airbags.

Also, how do you tell the date code of the airbag? I found this number below the Firestone label; 708502. Not sure how to read it but if I had to guess, I would say 1985. If so, this is a 25 year old airbag. In recent topics regarding tires, it was the general recommendation not to drive with tires over 6 years old. Any methodology to the airbag age recommendation?
