Bill Bryant has done considerable research on the contest winners of the
GadAbouts. The winners of the Cokes didn't get to keep them, only usage
for a vacation.
The original winners have been I.D. as follows but not all have been tied
to a specific TZE number to date.
Richard Brazzeal, San Francisco....TZE unknown
William Bruce, Louisville....Now in CA
Charles Winter, Tacoma....Now in NV
Richard Turner, Chillicothe, OH.....TZE unknown
William Starrett, Dayton, OH....TZE unknown
The other 5 Gads were built for bottlers. One was abandoned on the
streets of New Orleans and ended up in landfill.
There were 2 Gads in FL at one time. Alex Sirum bought one that was
originally built for the bottler in TN, then owned by Tammy Wynette's
Richrdson-Wynette Motors in MO, then Alex sold it to a museum owner in PA
who sold it to the current owner in Morristown, PA.
Alex owns a 2nd Gad he bought from a SS club member who passed. The
original owner is unknown at this time.
Cokes and GadAbouts were upfitted from regular GM production, not
Transmodes, at LRP in Lake Geneva, WI who also produced 3 rather unique
GMCs using Transmodes.

To further clarify the Coke contest awards, the 5 GadAbouts were the first place prizes awarded to the 5 winners, 25 second place prizes awarded were the use of a GMC Motorhome for 2 weeks plus $3000. We don't know for sure which GMC motorhomes were used for the 25 second place winners use (or who they were), but it makes sense that some of the "standard" Cokes would have been used.
