For those of you that have tinkered with replacement 455 engines. Do any of
you have a spare 455 oil filter housing that positions the filter straight
down instead of angled forward?

Will this housing fit with the stock Exhaust manifolds? How about headers?

I'm working on a oil/water oil cooler set-up and might need the straight
down version of the filter housing as I doubt that a filter will clear the
RH inner CVJ once the sandwich type cooler is installed on the angled
housing..

Thanks,

Les Burt

The oil filter mount I am looking for is what is normally used on RWD 455
engines. The FWD (Toronado/GMC MH) version angles the filter forward. The
RWD version points the filter straight down. I need the RWD filter mount.
Does anyone have one they don't need?

Thanks,
Les Burt

I think you will find it cheaper to go to a U-Pull-It type wrecking
yard. Around here an item like that would run $7.50+ Tax. For me to
mail/ship it to you would be on the order of $12.77. (A quote from the
Post Office.) So what are you offering me for the one I have +
shipping??

Terry,

Thanks for the offer. I might have access to a filter mount from a local
friend, if he can find it. If not, I'll contact you later for yours.

The local wrecking yards are not interested in keeping anything from the 70s
or 80s as there isn't enough of a demand. Most local yards are already full
to the max with newer models that bring higher revenues.

Thanks,
Les Burt
