As my wife Lisa and I narrow down our search for a GMC we have had the opportunity to "meet" several of you over the Net. Bill Bryant has been gracious enough to let me visit him and Nita at home and Lisa looks forward to heading down there when she feels a little better.

There has been a coach in SoCal (yeah, 3100 miles away) that we have been interested in. The owner passed away recently and his wife does not know too much about the technical details of the coach. Frank Condos stepped up to help us sort some things out and checked with Miquel to see what he knew. As a result, we talked with Miguel last night and he is going to look the coach over for us, free of charge. Did I say that this guy was going to drive 40 miles one way, look the coach over, then drive back and not ask for payment?? It is this mindset of the collective GMC owners that really reinforces the fact that we are making the right choice looking for a GMC.

Mike Burke in SC did the same thing for us, not once but twice. We have narrowed it down to four possible choices and as we refine that further I just wanted to publically say thanks to all who have offered their time and assistance. You all are a great bunch and make us feel welcome.

You said, "....look the coach over, then drive back and not ask for
payment??" I'm afraid so...sometimes you just have to deal with us the way
we are. <VBG>

Down load and print off a copy of the 'Black List' for the way back...sorry,
but that's free as well.
Welcome to the GMC cult !

It is very affirming to know that this isn't really news.

I've seen lots of folks on this board do "stuff" for others just 'cause they're in the GMC family.

PS: GMCRON (who I'd never met or spoken to before) reviewed my coach before I bought it (and didn't try to outbid me either<G>).

Yep, it is real nice when a list member will help you out. I guess what really surprised me was that Miguel, as a business owner and someone who never really has a day off, is willing to take half a day to look it over when he could be doing billable time in the shop.

And, yes, I have long ago printed out the black list and have it on Streets and Trips on the laptop.

Just got off the phone with Miguel again. He is going down to look the coach over tomorrow.

I have always told the (few) people I have helped to just "pay it forward," (i.e. Help someone else when they need it.)
