Hi everyone,
My family is leaving soon for the nice weather in Florida, and we are planning on visiting the Kennedy Space Center before the obligatory Orlando (...2 kids). While we have several campgrounds that we frequent in Orlando, I wanted to solicit the group's advice/experience for a nice campground closer to Cape Canaveral maybe on the ocean or intercoastal. Anyone have a favorite they would like to suggest?

Thanks for any suggestions.....

Depending on what you want, if you are looking for a good beach for swimming and a wide open area with almost no shade, then Jetty Park in Port Canaveral is a good choice. If you want lots of trees and shade with a sandy area on the Intracoastal and a generally quiet and secluded park, Manatee Hammock is a Brevard County park that is close to Kennedy Space Center in Titusville. If you want somewhere just to park and have the 'amenities' of a KOA, then go to KOA in Mims, a few miles north of KSC. I've been to them all several times and have no complaints.

Thanks Bob,
With my 2 daughters (8 and 10), swimming is a must if the weather's nice. Also, a playground helps give my wife and me some free time! Thanks for the recommendations.
