I have submitted the opening bid on this coach. I have no idea as to
where the reserve is set, but figure I'm pretty safe at opening level.

I wonder if any San Antonio GMCers might be familiar with this coach
and/or its owners.

I will be asking for more info and more pictures, but it seems to be
in pretty nice condition and the interior decor does not totally
scream 1977!

Mac,
Be sure to ask for the TZE number. The pictures show a number of 1976 features although it may be a very early 1977.

Hi Mac

That is a strange '77. Looks more like a 75 or 76 to me.

The 77 did not have that AC growth under the dash and had the suspension
controls on the side panel.

Nice looking and it has new windows not to mention several miles of
pinstripes.

Good luck

Dave

In researching the gmcmotorhome.com site, I did not find
any model named "Sunnybrook." I wonder if this coach is
actually a 1976 "Glenbrook" model. I have asked seller
for TZE and additional pictures, if possible.

Cute little hubcaps...

Check those wheels and tire sizes very closely. I use to have a set of wheels that looked EXACTLY like that (including the hub caps). My set was 16.5" not 16" as advertised.

Mac,

Overall it looks like a nice "mid range" coach.

It has an early style dashboard. Looks more like a 1976. Electro Level came out in mid-1976. I am not sure when the later dash started but it was very close to the 1977 model change over.

Sunnybrook? I guess you can can YOUR GMC anything you want. The (painted) doors on the overhead cabinets make it LOOK like it was a Palm Beach. I think the shower curtain is also Palm Beach. Even I (with no color sense) noticed that nothing inside seems to match in color.

Interesting pin striping. I like the it around the front wheel wells. I think it would look even better with some type of flares. The pin stripe on the rear looks odd with the T skirts. Not sure about the pin-stripes around the windows. Notice the windows are upgraded? Seems odd to have 3 small awnings but no large one... Red ladder and roof rack?

I like the wheels..._almost_ chromes and baby moons. I would need to try the spare before I counted on it. I do not think it will fit as it has a coned shaped spider. (center)

Just from the oddness of the listing. I wouldn't take anything the seller stated as truth without something to back it up.

But overall, not a bad coach... from the listing.

Is that a GMC thermometer under the drivers window?

Mac with the combination of really nice stuff and questionable statements, I would run on down and put an eyeball on it. Whole lot different than looking at pictures.

Then you could also swing by Montgomery.

Hi, Don.

The only things I see on left side are a fire extinguisher
behind the driver seat and a CB to left of steering column.

I'm pretty certain that the "seller" is NOT the owner.

I do see that the coach has the Electro-Level (sp?).

I recognize the Black & Decker toaster oven over the sinks.
We have an identical, if somewhat beaten up by tornado that
took our house in 1999. I suspect that I would wish to get
the stove/oven combo out of there and just put a propane
stove top in and a microwave oven where the oven now is.
We just happen to have the microwave oven from our trailer
that was wiped out in that same tornado! I think I save
EVERYTHING forever! Probably the reason we can't put our
4-wheeled vehicles into our three-car garage!

I need a house with a shop/barn and about 2 acres out in
the country where I can once again put up antennas!

Cheers and thanks for the tips.

On the OUTSIDE (and a little below) of the driver's window, is a GMC thermometer. I kind of blends into the pin stripe.

You are probably correct about the seller.

Hi, Mike.

Actually, I really like the individual awnings. To me,
they give the coach a more modern appearance. I have
poor experience with the large awnings in wind and
heavy rain storms.

I also like the minimal but classy (IMNHO) pinstripes.

I'm still trying to get additional pics of the interior
and also the TZE number.

It appears that one or more POs have done some upgrading,
even if it doesn't all really fit together. My color
sense (lack thereof) is always bugging wife of almost
50 years!

Seller has advised coach has a double bed. That's good,
in my opinion. It appears that a gaucho or sofa is on
the street side, but it's a bit hard to be sure. From
what I have read here on the list, mods to a GMC are
limited only to imagination and size of bank account!

Best regards,

Mac Macdonald

Well, the seller has provided more info. The coach IS
a 1976, TZE 166V101966, about 2/3 of the way through
the 1976 model production. Seller has also updated
other info and disclosed what he states is a "small"
crack in driver side windshield but "not in view."

He has added eight more pictures, apparently taken
with a fairly cheap camera. Mileage on the "clock"
shows 89,386.

Is there a San Antonio, TX (or vicinity) list member
that would be willing to go up and take a look for me?
I'd be willing to reimburse for the fuel and a good
dinner.

Seller does not seem to fully answer questions posed
to him on eBay, but he does not seem to be extremely
proficient with language in general.

I am really interested in this coach and would like
to get a general impression before making a 1,000
mile round trip to inspect it for myself. In addition
I don't really know to look for the BIG/EXPENSIVE
bad things.

Like the fellow who wrote the story about HIS arrival
at GMC MH owner status, I have lusted after one of
these buggies for well over 30 years!

The eBay auction ends on 23 March at 10:51:48. I
hope I don't end up in a bidding war with another
list member for this coach!

One newbie to another, I am also looking for my first GMC. I watch ebay
every day; when this notice first came on ebay I was interested. I used to
live in New Braunfels (for 7 yrs.). I called my friend, Ken, another x-used
car dealer (I retired long ago). Ken was a used car dealer for years then
went into used motorhome dealing. He has a lot on I-10 West, just out of
Seguin, Texas.

I asked Ken to go eyeball this GMC for me, he said he had already seen it
(at Dallas, where the present owner (another dealer) bought it. Ken told me
I wouldn't want it at anywere near what the dealer was asking. Ken thought
the dealer bought it way too high. Ken can tell you what the dealer has in
it. Call Ken at (210) 744-1970, tell him that you and "Van" are both
looking for a good GMC at wholesale price. Ken will give you the real
story, I have always found Ken to be a square dealer.

Well, I pulled the trigger last night, so I guess I have bought a coach.
Now to get financing, insurance, etc. and retrieve it from over 450 miles
away from home.

I see from info that it requires 91 Octane fuel. Is this current 91 stuff
or the OLD 91 stuff? If I remember correctly, current 87 or 88 is about
equivalent to the old 91 stuff.

Hey Mac;

Congrats on the new coach. Welcome to the club. On the gas thing, I
just went 7000miles in my coach and it was all on regular unleaded
gas. I know others that only use premium.
