I ordered the Edelbrock 7284 today from Summit after the local Edelbrock supplier said they did not have that number in stock.
The manifold is removed and all is cleaned up ready for the new gaskets.
JimKs shop had one gasket!!
Bob Burkett offered me his Paterson stash but I didn't see his message until I got home tonight at the computer is not at my shop. Thanks to Rob for the part number and Summit's phone number.
There were three wires caught under the right rear of the manifold. I never saw them but noticed a small water leak coming down over the starter when I tried to start the engine. Could not find a leak and it stopped when I lowered the coach off the jack. John Sharpe came over to figure out the timing for the engine to run and it was he who found the wires under the manifold, hence the leak.
When I loosened the manifold bolts to pry up the manifold and free the wires, I could see what looked like wires still under the manifold. Tried all kind of tricks to get it out, finally realizing I would have to remove the manifold as I now had a huge leak when starting the engine.
Turned out to be about 4 inches of wire caught on the manifold in two places-it never would have quit leaking.
Will also need to change the oil as it got antifreeze in it as well.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions, guys. I knew y'all would help out..............Michael at GEMRECS
BTW, hope to be in Montgomery Thursday if RV gets back together and I get the trailer loaded with some parts.
