Dan,,I noticed you are headed for Fredericksburg Tx, Home of Adm. Nimitz. His boyhood home is a hotel he grew up in that looks like a steamboat. Very nice WWII musuem. Also some nice restraunts. East of there is the LBJ ranch. Shopping for the ladies. {sorry} GL,,,,PL

absolutely, Dan, do not miss the Museum of the Pacific War.....I spent two whole days there several years ago when our Cessna 195 club had it's convention in Fredericksburg. It is a wonderful place. And, there are several locations away from the main museum that have re-enactments and other displays. They have a PT boat in one of those other locations.

Is Dan stuck. He is 35 miles short of his destination and has not moved in 45 minutes. He is also down to 11.9 volts.

Ken,

I went to:

http://aprs.fi/?call=wd0afq&mt=m&z=11&timerange=3600

Clicked on Satellite and zoomed in as close as possible. It appears he's in
a parking lot next to a large building of some kind.

According to Streets and Trips file from Discovery clubs that is a Wal-Mart. We also stayed in Ft. Stockton last night and as we were leaving Dan and Jim were going by on the highway. That was that last time we saw them all day even tho we were apparently going the same speed as they were. We stopped just past Fredericksburg to see the LBJ ranch but they kept on going - almost got there it seems. Dan said he was going to stop at the ice cream factory but I guess he skipped it? We might stop on Friday - spending a couple of nights in Austin to see LBJ Library - paying our respects and thanking him for Medicare.

>I was sorta wondering if that was his battery voltage

I think so and it is down from 14 because the motor is not running. It is still daylight in Dallas.

Armand, did you see many bluebonnets thru the hill country? Maybe too early.

Hey Armand, I saw yall. Slowed down but you never came up. Even pulled over a few miles down the road. I figured you stopped somewhere. Oh well, we will see you at the convention.
We are in Navasota Walmart for the night.
I could not find the ice cream factory and it was after 5 so no one out much. Oh well, guess who is in charge of ice cream at the convention.
All is well. We will do the last few miles in the morning. Jim, Grace, Teri, and I are eating fried chicken in our coach right now.
Thanks for riding with us.

Good to hear from you and every thing is great.

You passed about a mile North of Blue Bell, but a couple hours too late, the last tour is at 3 http://www.bluebell.com/the_little_creamery/visiting_blue_bell/VisitBB_Brenham.html

Did you see any bluebonnets?

No wildflowers at all. The place still looks like the middle of winter - and feels like it too. Cold and rainy - mid 40s with light drizzle all day. Supposed to be better tomorrow - maybe the bluebonnets will come out soon so we can see some on the way home.

According to Blue Bell's web site there is no parking for RVs so we would have to park it somewhere and use the tow car - Dan, will you be serving Blue Bell ice cream? If so, I will probably just use my imagination about how it is made and eat yours - probably help you serve it????

Yea, we use lots of volunteers Armand. So, we will grab you one night. Serving ice cream at the conventions is the best job there. I have a blast. The people just keep me laughing.
We did see some blue bonnets east of Austin this afternoon. We have had an absolute blast the last two days traveling with Jim and Grace. Jim is on phone now and the ladies are knitting. So, I had a chance to check in. That coach of his is a rocket. Good thing he has the lsd in there. I was glad to finally get under 3,000 ft. today. Now I can drive by vacuum. OVer 3000 ft, the vacuum gauge is pretty useless.

Boy,
That LBJ ranch is a real dud. The coldest beer in TX is
Lukenbach......if you can find the place. I spend two days in what
used to be called the Chester Nimitz museum. My wife's father is on
the wall there in two places.
