I have a Cummins 900Amp portable/rechargeable power station and air
compressor that I keep in the GMC. I can't find the 120volt recharger, so
I'm wondering if I could use a charger from some other 'thing' to charge my
'power station'.
What voltage should I be putting into the battery?
Tks

Wow! Are you sure you mean 900 amps? That thing must be HUGE!

Mike, Do you have a model number on that device. I looked on the web and could not find it.
It probably needs a 14 volt or so charger but until I find it I do not want to say that for sure.

Mike: Most of those things simply have a 12 volt lead acid battery and a small charger on a wall wart to keep them up. So, any small 12 volt battery charger will do just fine. I expect the original one was about a 1 amp unit.
As for the 900 amps, those numbers are designed to impress only. If you short circuited the little battery for half a second you might see numbers that large. Lead acid batteries can deliver huge amounts of amps into very low resistance circuits for very short times. As a booster to help start a rig, they do a small "recharge" of the main battery, and often that will get you going. More often the little battery is dead, just when you need it. Glad you are keeping yours up.

Thanks for the assistance guys..there were no labels on it and I looked on
the net as well and could find nothing to match it. I think I'll just try a
14volt charger and see what happens...it's not like it's a back up for my
pacemaker or anything. <VBG>

This just in...I thought I'd give it one more try. The fine print quickly
cuts 900 down to 450 amps doesn't it. The difference between peak and
cranking....Not the same labels on the front, but identical in all other
aspects...

Another quality product made to NA specs in China...and the label can match
anyone who wants to pay for it..<g>

I like the real information: 12V17AH Sealed Lead-Acid rechargeable battery
A 17 amp hour battery. Amazing how it will deliver 450 cranking amps...LOL
