After six months of lurking I have taken the plunge. I've just bought a '78 Kingsley in Michigan and will be driving it back to Washington DC in a few weeks time. Thanks so much to all those who offered their advice and in particular to Jerry Bell for all his help. I've got some specific questions, but I will give each one a separate thread.

Cheers

Richard,

I forgot to ask.
Whose coach are you buying and where?

You should download a carry a copy of the "Black list" (a list of people - mostly owners willing to provide assistance) to carry with you on the trip home.

Was that the Kingsley on Bethune's site? If so , looks like a nice coach.

Congratulation on your new coach. Sorry I was not in Traverse City to meet you on Saturday but I enjoyed looking at the coach for you earlier. Did you get to drive it? It was a steep and snow covered driveway so I know it was not easy to get it back in the garage.
I think you got a nice coach that will serve you well. Start asking questions, everyone is ready to help.

I should have said thanks too to Rick Williams in the UP for scoping out my Kingsley. Thanks Rick! I will be picking it up on the morning of March 11th and if you are in Traverse City I'd love to see you.

Rick - Thankfully the snow had cleared from the roads so I did get to drive it At least forty minutes on those back roads and a bit in town. Very smooth!

Hi Matt. Its a '78 Kingsley that was for sale in Traverse City Michigan (on the Bethune site). if anyone is in the area with a problem they may be interested to know that the owner of the Midas on Grandview Parkway is a GMC owner and has a lift big enough to raise one... He was extremely helpful to me and I would recommend him if you are happen to be in the area.
I take your advice about the black book!

Cheers

Having worked for I've Been Moved (IBM) I can feel your pain.

Since GM Truck & Coach reported making 3,260 coaches in 1976, yours was
very near the end. Build Date is Aug 6, 1976. It was listed and I have
lots of questions which I will send directly.

Many thanks!
