Terry's cell is two-five-three-six-eight-six-two-six-two-four. I'm sure he has it with him.

Thanks randy.
Heard from another netter that he's in Chandler. I was worried that
he had stopped at Hal Kading's place and fell in while talking
airplanes. Easy to do at Hal's.

Talked to Terry S. earlier this afternoon. He is at his brother's place in Chandler. Picked up enough 2 by material to make ramps and has dropped the front tank and removed the plugged sock. He's about to drop the rear tank (when it cools down or someone arrives with cold beer). Plans to spend the weekend visiting and finish cleaning up the fuel tanks. Will be heading to Los Angles about Tues and then to Jim K's to pick up some parts for a GMC'r in WA.
BTW he went through Dallas during the snow storm earlier this week. Very entertaining story.

Thankd for the update, he called me this evening. There is a fitting
on his rear tank, near the LR that has a section of hose on it with a
bolt plugging it. This is not the APU fuel connection.

Steve,
Is Terry driving the 73 230 he picked up in Arkansas ? -- back in July 09, Toby Maki started a thread an asked about a similar fitting on his 73 Glacier 230 (if you search look under "fuel tank puzzlement"). My 73 230 has one also. May be related to the model 1 tank.

Just FYI

I believe this rear tank side fitting was to connect to the drain fitting of an early, and perhaps never in production, tank fuel vapor separator. This was a tank type separator unlike the float type we are all familiar with. You can see a picture of this in the X-7425 maintenance manual under rear suspension page 4-1. It is located just in front of the middle axle shock in figure 1.
