I am getting tired of this. The dog gone maserator went again. Good thing I carry a spare ready to go. Think I have rebuilt this one for the last time. A new one may become my next spare.`This time all the rubber tips are gone but one. Did not run it dry so not sure why this happened. I think the new ones have a safety feature that will stop them if not enough liquid to lube the blades.
What I need is someone to show me where I can buy the rubber adapter. It must go over the 3 inch, id, sewer pipe, reduce down and go over the 3, od, inch maserator. I run the big opening Jabscos.
Oh well, should make for a good blog story. Teri got it swapped out first thing this morning.

Dan,

A TrueValue or other simular small hardware stores carry them. It
will look like it just fits 4" to 4" coupler, however it will compress
down quite easily to fit the 3" macarator using a screw down hose
clamp. Good Luck

Dan;
I have run ours for the past four years and have never had a problem.
Our will some time stop in mid pumping.
I turn off the power for about a two minutes and re-start the pump.
Then on the other hand we are not full timing it either.
You can order the parts from The San Diego Marine Exchange on line.
Man you have got some hot poop!
Stay away from the peppers.

LOL Roger, Teri is a keeper.
We are out in the desert geocaching now. You should see Teri with that little gps unit. I told her if she would get the maserator swapped out this morning I would take her chaching. Good stuff for the blog.
going to the local hardware store tomorrow to see if they have that fitting. Thanks.

Man!!! What are you guys eating? Maybe spicy foods are eating the rubber!!!!!! Laughing

Have you looked at the rubber couplings at Lowes/HD? They have some reducers, and you could always make a sleeve out of some cut rubber since you are hose clamping it anyway. Electrical tape wrapped around it would work too, for that matter.

Every time I swap the maserator I have to pull the end off as I have it modified to fit a 4 inch rubber fitting. Jim Bounds did not have them or know where I could find the proper one. I am going to find one somewhere. Lowe's are HD did not have them. Will hit the local hardware store in Quartzsite in the morning. Right now we are in Doug Norton's Jeep geocaching the desert. The reason I am so fat is because I stay in the jeep and let Teri climb the mountains for the caches. I look up the next cache while she is getting this one. Verizon aircard and Cradlepoint router on the dash work great.
Dan
I eat jalepenoes daily.

Please note, Jabsco macerators are not compatible with jalapeno peppers, either whole, the excretion of from mammalian consumption, or in seed form.

Please make a note of it.

Thanks for all of the comments. Everything is back in order as of early this morning. Pumped the tank into my 2 gas jugs and took to the dump. Life is once again great out here in the desert.
Jim K. sells the kits. He sent me one last year. What may have happened. The thing stopped, I used the screwdriver on it. I may have done a counter clockwise turn. That would have flipped the fins backwards. When I turned it on it may have broke them off. Who knows? It is not the jalepenoes. I do know that. I will be at the two local hardware stores in morning looking for a rubber fitting. I don't want to swap the heads again.

Dan,

I know you guys are waay ahead of us in how much you use your coach and know stuff. But, I will mention this, if not for you, then for others. When we bought our first coach, Marc said, "No dental floss in the toilet." I didn't think I needed to ask how he knew that.

Teri is a buckup, swapping it out. Not a job I like much. My last one, I went to a church meeting and my friend Randy was visiting and had it done when I got home.

G'day Dan,

I did a Google search for "rubber sewer couplings" and came up with:

http://www.missionrubber.com/Products/FlexSealCouplings.php

I'm not exactly sure what size you need but they sure have HEAPS of
different ones!

Thanks Rob, I bookmarked that site. Last year Ken H. found one and I bookmarked it but the laptop crashed and I lost the site. Ken did not recall it. I sholuld have ordered it when he sent me the link. I have built up the head so that it fits the 4 inch rubber just like the sewer pipe does. Was all I could find in Dexter, 4 inch to 4 inch, or 3.5 to 3.5, whatever the diameter is. So, everytime I need to use my spare maserator I have to pull that head. I am tired of doing that. This time I will get the right adapter somewhere.

Dan,

Go to Home Despot and find a rubber fitting with a female socket
on one end and at least one inch of straight pipe beyond the
bell. Cut it off at that point and throw the rest away. Install
and poop away.

Try a Plumbing Supply, and you should be able to find more choices of no
hub adapters and the price should be close to the discount stores

Hitting a local hardware store in a few minutes. These dealers here know nothing except how to over price the macerators. I don't have to have it now but this is for the next adventure.
We had a drunk out last night. Just put a short story on the blog about it. Sitting here waiting on Teri to look at all of the hand power tools in this big tent.

Dan,

TSC has them. Of course there probably aren't any tractors out there in the desert and probably no TSC store around either.

I see you were over in Blythe yesterday or the day before. Did you see any tornado damage?
