Jay,

I don't want to insult anyone but personally I can't see the point of doing
burnouts with a GMC.

It reminds me of when I was a kid in high school. My buddies all had clunkers and I drove my Mother's VW Rabbit. Front wheel drive was still new to these guys and when I told them my little car could burn-out even with 5 of us in the car they didn't believe me.

Well, 5 big teenagers in a little rabbit, rev the engine and drop the clutch, I could have worn out the tires at the stop light if I wanted! Those numbskulls were exceedingly impressed, even though we barely got moving!

I still laugh about it. What's the point of a burn-out with front wheel drive? These wagon-wheels on my coach spin if I hit a patch of water.

It must just be a guy thing!

Robert,

I agree with your opinion on GMC burnouts.

Seems to me a good way to tear something up. I've got enuff to work on without making more.

I had a 77 Rabbit in High School. Other than the fact that it was the worst car I ever owned, I would consistantly blow the doors off of my rich-kid friend's new 1983 Camaro Z28. That 4BBL 305 was a DOG! Smog pumps be damned. Glad we don't have them in our coaches.

Man, what I drove to high school most days had way more HP and torque than the cool kids with the hopped up cars that looked like a cat in heat... she had a 13 speed road ranger transmission, split rear axle shifting (dual range.. flat and hilly), glow plugs, air brakes AND a bed in the back.

She couldn't smoke the tandems, but I could wave my hand and tip the dumper...

Yupp she was the big old farm truck! and I wondered why I never had a date in school. Rolling Eyes

Ray,

We already have someone who could do this. John Nichols had a wreck on the Interstate that took the body completely off the frame and left them sitting in the median and no one seriously hurt. He uses it as a utility vehicle to drive on his farm He could do burn outs like crazy, but doesen't.

I'd be tempted to try a burnout, but I really have a hard time doing that to my baby.......it'll probably never happen on purpose. Still fun to watch !

pop on a holley street avenger carb and tune it and you will...

I did the best burnout by accident on friday night, wasnt trying to, was going up a steeeeeeep grade in the rain stopped at a stop light, and when I hit the gas the tire lit! I really need an LSD! (Limited Slip Diff, not the drug) and the coach did not moove the intersection filled with smoke and so did the cabin, it was rather spactacular, finally after the tires got tackey they grabbed and on the next try I got the rig moving again. it was something else....
