Having wayyyy too much time on my hands, I thought I'd email 3 or 4 bearing
companies to see just where their products were actually made. A mistake on
my part; this is what I got back from Timken when I asked about the Set-23.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss !

In regards to your inquiry;

LM104949E (cone) – made in CANADA

LM104911 (cup) – Made in USA

LM104911EA (spacer) – manufactured in several countries

Go figure.....

Mike in NS

Did you know that the spacer on the recent batch of the front bearing
set from Timkin is almost the same outside diameter as the cup. Dave L
call me to tell me that he noticed that.
Now only Dave L can observe such changes. He is very thorough at
anything that he does.
Our supplier has contacted the engineer at Timken to have the space be
made to the old spec.
We will find out soon.
