Here's a neat lil gadget we all probably use when in the big box
stores where we identify bolts and nut sizes. Always wanted one for
one reason or the other.

Description:Until January 24, 2010, Lee Valley has an introductory
price of $13.50 (the regular price will be $18.50) for the Thread
I.D.™ Nut and Bolt Indentifier*. It includes a plate with 28 tapped
holes: 10 National Coarse (1-64 to 1/4-20), 10 National Fine (1-72 to
1/4-28), and 8 Metric Coarse (M1.6 to M6.0) that you can use to
identify bolts. But wait, there’s more: it also comes with knurled-
head bolts in the same 28 sizes, so, you can use these to identify
tapped-hole threads in other materials, and, by flipping the plate
over, use them to identify nuts. Last, but not least, all this comes
in a fitted wooden box.

Got mine yesterday.

Roger,

Thanks for the info.  It was so cute, Lanny wants one too.  Just called, & Lisa said they're out of stock now & they don't expect more until mid-March.  We're locked in at the sale price of $22 (which includes $8.50 s/h.)  She also said they have 3 different catalogs, so they will send one each when the product arrives in March.  Thanks again for letting us all know about that.  Hill Country hugs.

Roger,

I got one of these too, the SAE's aren't a problem but I'm lost in the
Metric world!

Thanks,

I ordered two of them tonight. They are on back order with
delivery to THEIR mail order department expected on 16 April.

Shipping is going to be $11.50 plus 2 x $13.50 for a total
$38.50 for the two sets
