Lifts the shaft? I don't understand... I have a Column lowering kit in mine that I did at the same time I did the Mac Instrument panel.. It's one of the best driving modifications I have ever done.. It makes the driving position so much more comfortable I can't say enough..
I didn't notice any kind of "lifting" when I did it..

I agree it's the best update I've done for comfort as well But if you go look up front you can see the greasable steering shaft has moved up quite a bit. I just wonder if that could become a problem.
